Kick and Glide In the Beautiful Lakes Basin
Tamarack has the distinction of providing the only winter resort access complete with a full-service Ski Center in Mammoth. Guests will cross country ski or snowshoe around the extensive 19-mile trail network that loops and criss-crosses Mammoth's outer reaches. Vistas include frosted lakes, snow-covered peaks, forested trails and the back side of Mammoth Mountain. Trails are groomed daily and clearly marked.
Trail Update:
Tamarack XC Ski Center is OPEN! 18km of trails are groomed and open for striding and skating, with an additional 5km of trails open for striding only. All of our trails are open except for Dome, Waarlis, Bobby's Blast, Willows, Lower Sidewinder, Watertank, and Horseshoe. Trails that have been trackpacked and are suitable for striding only are Mamie Cutoff, Pine City, Lucky Strike, Mineshaft, and Voodoo. All seasonal programs are operating according to normal schedules. The Ski Center is fully open, offering trail passes, rentals, lessons and equipment sales daily. Don't forget about our full moon tours. A wonderful opportunity to howl at the moon with your friends! The next dates for these are Tuesday, March 6th (snowshoe) and Wednesday, March 7th (ski and snowshoe). You need to make reservations for these. The cost is $55 and this includes a guided snowshoe or ski tour, and dessert and a hot beverage in the Tamarack Lodge afterward.
NEW Late Season Skate Ski Clinic
Whether you've never been on skate skis or want to get better fast you'll benefit from the consistent instruction of the new weekly Skate Ski Clinic. Learn about technique from the expert instructors at Tamarack XC Ski Center. Classes meet Thursday mornings from 9 to 11am from February 23 thru March 15, 2012. Cost is $99 per person. Reservations required - call the Ski Center at 760.934.2442 x 8 for more information.

Getting to Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center - transportation from the town of Mammoth Lakes is free. Pick up the Orange shuttle line from the Village 30 minutes past the hour. Leaves Tamarack on the hour. 8:30 to 5pm, peak winter months.
