Sherpa Tour

A GUIDED TOUR OF THE UPPER LAKES BASIN!

Grab a seat in the snowmobile-led sleigh that will deliver you to Upper Basin, where a guide will give you a tour around the Lake Mary before enjoying a hot beverage and snack! After your break, you can burn off some more calories by skiing back to Tamarack or kick back with a ride in the Sherpa!

Schedule:
9:30 AM: Pick up equipment
10 AM: Sherpa departs
10:15 AM: Guided tour
11:45 AM: Hot drink and snack in Upper Lakes Basin
12:15 PM: Ski or take the Sherpa to Tamarack Lodge

Full Moon Tours

Join a naturalist-guided tour on cross country skis or snowshoes during winter full moons.

The tour includes equipment, guide for the evening, trail access, a hot (non-alcoholic) beverage and dessert by the Lodge fireplace. Alcoholic beverages are available at the bar. Maximum group is 15 participants.

$55 per person.
Reservations are required and space is limited.

Dates Available:  January 7 (hiking only, $40 per person); February 5, 6, 7; March 6, 7, 8.

Naturalist Tours

Learn more about your surroundings in the Eastern Sierra. Complimentary cross-country tours are held on Fridays and Saturdays as well as holiday Sundays and snowshoe tours Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. December through April. Both begin at 11am and meet at the Ski Center. Extreme weather may cancel. More info: 760-934-2442, ext. 8.

"Getting Started" Package Lesson

No Experience required! The best way to begin cross country skiing; recommended for all beginners. Includes 1-hour group lesson, trail pass, rentals, plus use of rentals for rest of day.

All Day (10 AM start) - Adult $82; Youth $75; Child $57; Senior $75
Afternoon (1:30 PM start) - Adult $75; Youth $69; Child $53; Senior $69

Group Lesson

Covers the basics of cross country skiing in a fun group class. Great for families. No experience required.

Lessons are offered at 10 AM and 1:30 PM daily and last an hour with 1 or 2 people or 90 minutes with 3 or more. Does not include equipment or trail pass.

Private Lessons by the Hour

We welcome progressing cross country skiers who wish to improve their on-snow skills to spend an hour or two with one of our qualified professionals. You may be surprised how much more fun cross country skiing can be!

One Person (any age) - $75/hour; add $45/hour for each additional person. By appointment only. Does not include equipment or trail pass.

Learn to Skate Ski - Daily Clinics

We'll give you an intro to the technique and show you the right way to skate on cross country skis. To get the most out of your lesson we recommend prior cross country skiing experience.

Instruction is offered every day at 12 PM in a group setting and does not include equipment or trail pass.  Some XC Ski experience is required.
