The Tamarack Gliders Program will continue its tradition as a way to encourage children in grades 1 through 5 (6-10 years old) to enjoy the sport of cross country skiing. Through games and fun activities, children learn skiing skills and explore trails in the winter wonderland of the Lakes Basin. Treasure hunts, obstacle courses, games of tag and tree skiing are the means by which qualified Tamarack staff of instructors coach the Gliders. This year we will offer again a special class for Kindergarten Kids (age 5) on Friday afternoon from 2:00 - 3:00.

The group will be split by age and ability for all sessions. Parents are encouraged to come out and ski with the kids

The Avalanche program is for kids in middle school and high school who want to stay involved in cross country skiing after they outgrow the Tamarack Gliders program. Cross country skiing is a great activity for middle school aged kids, whether they are interested in learning to compete or just in having a good time outdoors with their friends. Qualified staff at Tamarack Cross Country will coach this program, emphasizing skill development in both the classic and the skate techniques. Participants will work up to skiing longer and longer distances.
