    Mammoth Biathlon returns to Tamarack this season in a location that will allow for future events and expansion of the program.  The terrain and accessibility of the Dome and Vista trails will offer a great venue for competitors, volunteers, and spectators alike, so come out and enjoy this great local event.

  • Full Moon Tour Update

    This historic storm has already brought 9'-14' of snow so far, but with our expected night-time conditions, we have elected to cancel our January Full Moon Snowshoe Tour.  

    When the skies clear, we will have some amazing conditions at Tamarack Ski Center, so please continue to check our trail status page for updates.  Our next Full Moon Tour is February 8 and 9, but you can make plans now to come enjoy the moon-lit scenic beauty of the Mammoth Lakes Basin.

  • Lakes Basin 15km skate Postponed Due to Weather

    While we're excited about all the snow this series of storms is bringing, it creates difficult conditions for hosting the Lakes Basin 15Km Skate.  We have decided to postpone the event, are looking at alternative dates to ensure more fun will be had by all.  Please check back for an updated schedule.

  • Lakes Basin 15km Skate Race -UPDATE-

    WinnersThe Lakes Basin Race 15km will be on January 8th, 2016. Registration is now open for all ages for our second event of the season, and our first skate event.  Come test yourself with longer distances and skinnier skis at this exciting contest.

  • White Christmas

    Happy Holidays  It's going  to be a White Christmas for our Nordic skiers. It started snowing this morning and is supposed to go all night!

    We have a good base with over 50% of our trails open and groomed daily for skating and classic skiing.

    We are open from 8:30-5:00 and have complimentary naturalist snowshoe tours everyday at 10:30 except for Christmas Day.

    Come enjoy the Tamarack XC ski tracks. You never know who you will meet there.

  • Tannenbaum 10K Classic

    Our first race of the season takes place Sunday, December 11, and is a Classic Skiing event for the entire family.  Adults can tackle the 5K or 10K distances, while middle and high-schoolers can challenge themselves with the 3K.  Elementary ages – including kindergarten – have a blast with the 1k event and the Family Fun Race.

    The annual Tannenbaum 10K Classic is a fundraiser for Eastern Sierra Nordic Ski Association, with proceeds going to support the Junior Nordic Team. Races start at 10:00am at the Pack Station. Discounted registration is available online through Friday, December 9, with In-person registration open until Sunday at 9:00am.

  • It's Snow Time

    Welcome back skiers! Tamarack XC Ski Center kicks off the 2016/17 season on Friday, December 2 with about 12km of tracks to take you from the Ski Center, around Lake Mary, and out to Horseshoe Lake.

    Early season conditions exist, so please call or stop by the Ski Center for the current trail report and snow conditions. Daily trail passes are half-off for a limited time only, or purchase your season pass before the 2nd for our early bird savings. Get yours online HERE.

    December 2 | Open for Skiing
    Tamarack XC Ski Center is open for the season, but once it does, the season pass price goes up, so don’t wait till the last minute. Adults are just $319, and Youth and Senior Passes are $249 until opening day. Children’s passes are just $50 all season long. Call 800.MAMMOTH or purchase online HERE.

    December 3 and 6 | Free Master's Welcome Days
    Come out and give our Master’s program a try at one of our Free Welcome Days. Our season-long instructional program caters to all ability levels from basic gliding drills to fine-tuning techniques for racing. MORE INFO

    December 11 | Tannenbaum 10k Classic Race
    Our first race of the season is an event for the entire family, offering classic skiing distances from 1-10km, including a family fun race. For more information please call 760.934.2442 ex. 8 or stop by the yurt.  

    December 12 and 13 | Full Moon Tours
    Take in the moon-lit scenic beauty on this guided-tour like no other. Depart the Ski Center at 7pm for a 1.5 hour, after dark snowshoe excursion, then gather for dessert and hot drinks. Cost is $55. Reservations required through 800.MAMMOTH

Get yours by November 18th and you pay only $319 for an adult pass, and $249 for youth and senior passes. Cross country season passes for kids 12 and under are $50 all season long.   • Tamarack Fun Finale

    Tamarack ChallengeWith a spirit of gratitude we invite our skiers to join us in the Tamarack Challenge on April 10th. The challenge is to ski every trail we have open on the last Sunday of the season. Dress up, let your hair down and ski the tracks with laughter and friendship. We'll take a group photo at 9:00 a.m. then hit the tracks. For those of you who can't fathom skiing all the tracks we'll have a mini challenge. Our noon lunch is a potluck at the yurt. Bring your favorite dish (or a $5  donation). There will be beer toast and good cheer.
    Must have a trail pass.  Closing Day is April 16th, 2016
  • 38th Annual Mammoth Winter Marathon

    Nice little storm last night dumped about 4 in.
    of snow. Every day we get a little closer Mammoth Marathonto the "Big Daddy of Them All", the Mammoth Marathon on April 3rd. Discounted registration is online until midnight on April 1st. If you are not racing consider spending the day with us as a volunteer and get a free t-shirt and meal afterwards by contacting Alana Levin at 760-717-0176. Don't forget your Cowbells!

    Happy New Year! There’s no better way in the Eastern Sierra to get fit for 2016 than with some time spent cross-country skiing. Tamarack kicks off the new year with a series of 4-Week Learn To Ski Clinics to help you stick to your fitness resolution. The first clinic kicks off this Sunday from 9am-10:30am. Skip the crowds at the gym and come sign up at the Ski Center for only $99.

We will have approximately 12 km of tracks groomed for skating and striding. Please stop by the Ski Center for current trail conditions and be sure to purchase your season pass before the 21st for our early bird savings.
